What you’ll achieve
As an IT Product Management Senior Advisor, you will be driving all aspects of IT Project, Program and Portfolio activity, including collaborating and coordinating across all IT and business segments. You will work with internal customers (i.e., Product Managers, Project Managers, and Business Advisors, etc.) to complete project/program on time and within budget.

You will:
 

• Drive the engineering coordination and execution focused towards launching various new projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and product teams in developing project schedules, milestones, and risk analyses.
• Oversee the creation of new processes and tools as necessary to support additional needs and requirements of a fast growing business. Exercise technical judgment to keep goals for programs, projects, and products realistic and attainable within a given timeline
• Interface with Engineering and Functional owners for program requirements and scope.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
• Works closely with E2E Interlock Release Lead
• Provide sprint planning recommendations to meet and build timeframe required to align with Dell IT Releases.
• Track and drive delivery progress of each interlock component and escalate issues that can cause delay to Interlock Lead
• Create Epics or MBI (if applicable) for each assigned project and create features for each of the FT impacted
• Monitor and control progresses of assigned projects’ activities to the agreed timelines using Jira (velocity, no. of user stories, story points etc.)

Essential Requirements
 

• BS/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields or equivalent practical experience.
• Overall 8+ years of industry experience. Experience with technical subjects and emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace.
• Hands-on experience as a software engineer and program/project management. Experience as an engineering manager.
• At least 6-7 years of program/project management experience in software engineering, release engineering, or configuration management
• Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills for different audiences (interlock team audiences)
• Candidates must have knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle, continuous integration, test automation, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
• Must have demonstrated a high attention to detail, an analytical approach to software development, and a track record of creative solutions to complex technical problems.
• A strong ability to define and produce software quality metrics, process performance/capability baselines, continuous integration operations, and statistical techniques will also be required.
• Ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace
