The Team
 

The world of business, economics, and finance is rapidly changing. Trends in the economy affect businesses, industries, and the financial markets that interact with one another in dynamic and often unpredictable ways. The Deloitte India services group is focused on analysing investments from abroad into India and their relevance to businesses. The team is responsible for conducting analysing FDI trends, and develop in-depth business and industry/sector thought leaderships that provide useful insights to enable business teams/partners to make strategic decisions.
 

Important qualities/ skills required for the job

 

As a Deputy Manager/ Manager in the India services group, you will be responsible for Foreign Direct Investment (Outbound and Inbound), Industry research, analysis, and writing. You will be:

 

  • Working closely with ISG team in analyzing FDI developments and trends in India and various other regions.

  • Structuring, organizing, and synthesizing information to generate research hypotheses through rigorous gap analysis of secondary research and develop key insights on Government / Private Investments abroad and by International companies investing into India.

  • Validating research hypothesis to propose potential in support of the points of view.

  • Contributing to developing ideas for topics as well as specific approaches to address topics of interest in a rigorous and usually quantitative manner.

  • Writing draft reports to provide valid and credible findings

  • Presenting and summarising data, insights, and preparing client-ready deck on all deliverables.

  • Writing client-ready sections on short case studies and points of view.

  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables and meeting or exceeding client expectations.

  • Handling ad hoc tasks or projects, including handling bespoke requests from clients

  • Effectively managing multiple tasks and stakeholders of all levels by prioritizing urgency and importance

  • Continuously building and strengthening relationships with Business & Internal stakeholders. 

  • Managing day-to-day client relationships at mid and lower levels.

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration or a similar field will be a plus

  • Must have 7-10+ years of experience with a good research background, specifically in Government Policy / Public policy-related and economic research.

  • Good writing and communication skill is a must and must have worked on research reports and written short reports.

  • Has a good knowledge of MS office applications with a knowledge of macros in excel.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of / strong interest in core economic concepts and methodologies.

  • Is familiar with macroeconomic and financial concepts and major economic databases.

  • Has a good working knowledge of applied statistical techniques.

  • Knowledge of data analytics, Excel and Big Data, Power Bi will be a plus.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to initiate

  • Strong multi-tasking skills and a collaborative working style.

  • Must have very strong attention to detail and the ability and willingness to learn quickly about new subjects.
