Work you’ll do

The primary role of a Manager/Associate Director is to make immediate, direct contributions to enhancing our clients’ competitive position and performance in ways that are distinctive, innovative, and sustainable. Your day-to-day responsibilities will primarily include managing a team that performs financial reporting, financial close processes, legal entity control, statutory reporting, FP&A processes and be hands-on with the numerous accounting and planning processes involved. You will be responsible for planning and articulating process transformations, adoption of automation and improvements in analytics. You will be expected to manage regulated processes within the established control framework. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines while ensuring financial integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a team lead, you will be responsible for managing teams undertaking the following tasks and ensuring timely and adequate delivery while being hands-on with the processes:

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions to be taken
  • Review, process, gather, and compile accounting transactions and documents and ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with general accounting principles and established internal control policies and procedures
  • Partner with stakeholders across divisional Financial Operations to improve financial and accounting accuracy
  • Record and review journal entries related to Divisional branch results
  • Review and investigate reconciliation variances, assisting management to develop appropriate action plans addressing issues identified
  • Provide support for internal and external audits including control walkthroughs, documentation support and inquiry response
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made
  • Provide FP&A finance support to the accounting teams related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics in a timely manner
  • Partner directly with the finance team and onsite FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews
  • Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement

 

Professional should have:

  • Good understanding of financial or public accounting
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards (US / UK GAAP/IFRS), account reconciliations, and month end close processes
  • Domain knowledge and subject matter expertise on accounting, reporting and FP&A processes
  • Hands-on experience in auditing, preparation and consolidation of financial statements and working with statutory accounts
  • Experience in process simplification & transformation, lean methodology, controls, governance, exposure to audits and experience in functioning in a regulated process eco-system.
  • Prior experience in dealing with Global teams and stakeholders
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with multiple teams and forge meaningful and well-established relationships with various stakeholders
  • Ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate information, solve complex business problems and have an analytical approach
  • Demonstrated ability to convince others through effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
  • Ability to collate information in a structured manner; build business cases, prepare white papers etc.
  • Ability to build solutions and drive consensus across stakeholders
  • Ability to be hands-on with the processes and work on strategic projects with utmost attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, especially the ability to prioritize between multiple ongoing projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to document processes and policies

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountants will be preferred
  • MBA graduates and Cost Accountants are also eligible for the role
  • 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience in either financial accounting or management accounting/financial planning (exposure to both will be preferred)

  • Any city in India (Strong preference for Pune and Bangalore)

 

Shift Timings

  • Open to working in US and/or UK shifts

 

Other Skills/Preferences

  • Good understanding of insurance brokerage business
  • Valid Indian Passport with at least two years remaining before expiry
  • Candidates with existing US Visa and/or UK Visa will be preferred (at least one year remaining)
  • Willingness to travel for short and long term durations as per the requirement(s)
  • Good working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with multiple teams
  • Must be able to work with the onshore team to understand and transition various processes
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues/risks in a dynamic work-environment
