Job Summary

 

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for Agile Release Train (ART, team of Agile Teams). The RTE’s major responsibilities is to guide and facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the team in delivering values. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk and drive relentless improvement.

RTE will assist with setting standards and processes and work with the agile release train to ensure they are understood and adhered to.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Lead and facilitate software teams on the ART through development and delivery.
  • Enact SAFe and Agile principals and methodologies.
  • Support agile release train by enabling program level transparency, predictability, forecasting and coordinate release planning activities and execution.
  • Facilitate continuous pre-PI rolling wave planning readiness with product manager, product owner and Agile team.
  • Work with Product Manager and Product Owner to ensure that goals, scope and product plans are understood and achieved by teams.
  • Assist with Program level reporting and tracking the program PI objective, plans and execution of features and capabilities per plan and metrics.
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the program/product level, Scrum of Scrum and sync for solution trains.
  • Assist with managing risks, cross-team dependencies, and alignment.
  • Work with scrum teams to ensure data in Azure DevOps and dashboard/reports are properly maintained to enable proper reporting and management.
  • Facilitate ART inspect and adapt workshops and demonstrations.
  • Promote retrospective and enable continuous improvement.
  • Work with engineering team with planning and executing per Release Management processes and schedules.
  • Optimize the flow of value through ART.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Good experience on Agile and SAFe.
  • SAFe RTE certification is a plus
